Big River, a city on the banks of the Colorado River, offers shopping, restaurants, and the Big River Family Park.

Blue Water,  on the Colorado River in Parker, Arizona, offers boating, swimming, and fishing for the whole family.  Blue Water features the Blue Water Casino, recreation area, entertainment and dining.  There is a three story indoor water park for kids and adults alike.

Buckskin Mountain State Park is located on Arizona Highway 95, about 12 miles north of Parker.  Camping, hiking, boating, swimming, showers, and a picnic area are offered at the park.

Earp, a small town just north of Vidal, is named after the famous lawman of the late 1800’s, Wyatt Earp.  Wyatt Earp lived in the town of Vidal during winters with his wife while he was prospecting for gold in the Mohave Desert.

Joshua Tree State Park is a desert park offering a visitor’s center, nature trails with unique foliage and tours.  The Joshua Tree was named by Mormon pioneers because its uplifted limbs reminded them of Joshua, a biblical character raising his arms and praying to heaven.  The Joshua tree can live up to 1,000 yrs. old.

Lake Havasu and Parker Dam are within 45mi. of Vidal. Lake Havasu is the home of the world famous London Bridge.  Attractions include camping, hiking fishing, boating.  Beautiful scenery and outdoor fun on a 45 mile long lake including vacation retreats such as Black Meadow Landing featuring a 5 hole golf course, RV and camping sites, swimming lagoon and a sandy beach.

Las Vegas, only 166 mi due north on Rt. 95, is a perfect overnight destination.

Mojave National Preserve features the Mojave road, an east/west 4WD road which was once an Indian trade route and now goes through the park.  Wild flowers can be seen when in season.

Wyatt Earp’s home was in Vidal itself during the last winters of his life.  Earp and his wife lived in their house in Vidal while he was working his gold mine in the Mohave Desert.
